mg / MAT / Text Book Option

Choose a Textbook Option Plan that works for you.

Consistent with graduate coursework, you will be required to complete textbook readings as part of your course assignments. Marygrove College provides students with an opportunity to choose a Textbook Option Plan that works for you.

As part of new regulations in the 2008 Higher Education Opportunity Act, as of July 1, 2010, colleges and universities are now required to publish the ISBN numbers and retail prices for textbooks and related course materials required for college classes. This means you have options in how to purchase your books.

At the beginning of the MAT Online program, you will be asked to select one of the options for receiving your textbooks. You will need to make your decision to “opt in” or “opt out” at the time of registration. Registration (and making your decision about course textbooks) may be completed online by going to: webadvisor.marygrove.edu

Consider your options carefully: once you’ve selected your plan, you will not be able to change options. The Opt-In and Opt-Out Plans are described below:

Opt-In Plan:
This plan allows you to amortize the cost of your textbooks over the life of the program. In this plan, you pay $75 per course (or $150 per term) and new textbooks are sent to your home at the beginning of each term. You will receive everything you need to complete your course, delivered to your doorstep. Save time! No need to worry about finding the right edition or planning ahead for each course. In addition, you may find that you can save money in this plan. A list of current textbooks is provided for each program so you can evaluate whether this option is right for you.

Opt-Out Plan:
This plan allows you to purchase textbooks for each course on your own. You are responsible for purchasing any textbooks required to successfully complete your course. You can choose to purchase new or used textbooks. In this plan, it is your responsibility to purchase the books prior to the start of each course, ensuring you have the correct textbook edition specified for your course.
